My Sister's Keeper
Intentional weepie about a family dealing with cancer, from the king of weepies, Nick Cassavetes ("The Notebook"). What elevates this movie above your typical Hallmark fare is the acting by the 3 lead actresses: Cameron Diaz (yes, it's surprising when she is really good in a drama), Abigail Breslin, and newcomer Sofia Vassilieva, who plays the dying sister. The story is touching, emotional, and really pulls at the heartstrings. If you are in need of a good cry, watch this movie (but bring tissues).
