What an overwrought, messy season. What used to be a fun and touching show about family dynamics has turned into a melodramatic soap opera. Some of the story lines are so out there (confusing political intrigues, unwarranted betrayals, random con artists, and mysterious plots of land) that they detract from the characters' credibility. Plus, most of the characters became so whiny and annoying this season that I just stopped caring. This used to be one of my favorite shows that I would look forward to every week but it has a lot of turning around to do if I'm going to continue watching next season.
